Hi guys & have a good year.
Know eneyone what for this hole?
-
Hi renos!
That is the exit hole of the crankcase breather. It has to stay open.
Cheers

Renos,
That breather hole has caused much discussion about whether, or not, there needs to be a tube attached to it. Tube would route any oil that makes it through the breather channels onto the primary chain or, if you prefer onto the ground. I think it is safe to say that most A10's do not have a tube installed. I might be corrected by more knowledge members here.
Oh, and a big welcome to the forum.

Welcome from a less than knowledgeable owner; the previous thread on this topic got me thinking that I remember seeing one on my original engine (AA7 Plunger) but not on the rebuilt engine with BA10 crank cases and A7 iron top end.
Correct - no pipe on rebuilt engine, so dug the old cases out which DO have a pipe fitted - see pic below. Not sure whether this pipe is correct or not since someone (not me) has 'modified' them a long while back by cutting the top off the clutch back plate? The breather pipe looks like is been damaged by the chain at some point? May help?? *conf*
Now looking at fitting one retrospectively (wife has small hands ;))

It seems that the pipe was fitted to plunger engines but not swinging arm.
A good idea to retrofit.
