Title: lucas headlamp bolts, `61 SR
Post by: 1660bob on 02.03. 2011 09:18
Hi All. What size/thread are the two headlamp mounting bolts betwixt the headlamp brackets and shell on the non-nacelle type headlamps?
The previous bodger of my bike has drilled them out and fitted M8 bolts/nuts-YUK! i would like to repair properly i.e. helecoil or make up threaded bosses to fit to the shell as its an original Lucas item and otherwise good. I can then get the proper chrome/stainless bolts to fit as per original thread, anyone know the thread type/dia?
(Poss.5/16" dia?-a 3/8" bolt will not fit into the drilled out holes left by the previous bodger) Cheers, Bob.
