Post by: peter on 05.04. 2011 10:32
Hello,
My BSA 1954 Swingingarm 6 Spring clutch owned  4 driving plates Nr.65-3857 and 4 sheet plates 65-3824. Is it coreckt? Or should it have 5 Plates?

I went through this subject when I built mine. As far as I am aware A10/A7 has 5 steel and 5 friction. I think it,s the B33 that had 4 plates and in my case I had the wrong clutch basket so 5 plates would not go on. All the best.

Thanks for your replay Goldy , I think my clutch basket could be for 5, it has enough space, the clutch is not working well, bad gear change and often a little slip in the clutch,  i think she needs 5 plates.

Alex, thank you for the list it is very good for me.As I can see i have the wrong clutch in my BSA.
Today I have the clutch actuating cap grounded and polished plan, it was totally uneven.
now the clutch and the gearbox works for the first time well.
I have filled in chaincase an Car-Automatic Oil, it should be good, I have read it anywhere in this forum.
I riding the bike for 3 hours and all works verry well.I`m happy now.
English is a difficult language :-))  :-))
