Title: Other-than-motorcyle education from the forum
Post by: RichardL on 23.04. 2011 17:50
So, last night I was at a wine tasting with my wife at a local wine and spirits supermarket. I had the distinct benefit of knowing nothing of substance about the subject, so I could tell people I was just there to get 30 tiny glasses of wine. Anyway, I look up, and there on the shelf is a wine named "The Chook".  I immediately showed off my forum-acquired knowlege by declaring that this must be the section for Australian wine, because here on the forum is where I learned that a "chook shed" is a chicken coop in Oz. With the aforementioned tiny glasses of wine on board, I could then go into the humidor and display my even lesser knowlege of cigars in making my selections. Chicago has just emerged from 3-weeks of really lousy spring weather, so a cigar and some cleanup of the bike seems a good way to celebrate 60 deg. F.

G'day Richard,
we remember the strangest things. Was it from Oz? The local won't let me in on tasting days. Muskrat = Muscat, I've got a 15yo bottle to open in a few months when I turn 50. Probably end up in the dunny (toilet)  ;D
Cheers
