Title: Round Britain Rally on an A10!
Post by: LJ. on 11.03. 2008 09:23

Yes it's that time of the year again, when rallies commence, or are thought about and planned. Well I did just that yesterday when I posted off my cheque for entry. I have done the rally twice now on my other two bikes, the first time on the red A10 in the Avatar photo and last year on a 1947 M21.

The Rally covers some... maybe about 10,000 miles, and stretches from the top to bottom and side to side of the UK mainland. Last year there were 80 Landmarks to collect and with a good six months to collect them. I had a fantastic year out on the bike.

This year with my newly aquired Blue A10 I set out to gather a hat trick and hope to report back here on progress as the year evolves.

You can see last years Land marks on my web page. http://www.ljswain.btinternet.co.uk/rbr.htm (http://www.ljswain.btinternet.co.uk/rbr.htm) for further comments on how the rally is organised and run.

Well just a wait now for my list to come through and in two weeks I will be setting off with tent and paraffin stoves etc! The true eccentricity of a Vintage motorcyclist!  *lol*

Fantastic LJ,  I hope the bike does as good a job as the other two have, I look forward to the tales of life on the road.

Good luck Lawrence. Bikerbabe is doing her "Cubbies Counties" thing this year, she is planning to ride her Tiger Cub to every county in Scotland. *smile*

Just an update...

Shamefully I have not done much, not like in the previous two years at least. All I have done is turn up for the first day at the Bedfordshire Landmark with other rally participants. Excuses? Oh plenty of them... The bike I am doing this on for 2008 is the Blue A10 and is currantly wheel less on the work bench!
