Title: Cylinder head problem
Post by: tv175 on 14.09. 2011 18:37
I write here for the first time and I have to apologize that I don't know very well technical vocabulary.
I have work in progress A10 Super Rockett. There has been done changes in alloy cylinder to twin carb. What should I do?
To weld to carb some flanges? Or separate rubber inlet manifold?
What kind of carbs are best? I don't want any power, only driveability. Do any of You have any suggestions? Please, I need advices.

Those manifolds are designed for a non-flange carb.  You need a rubber inlet tube to fit to a non flange Carb, held on with jubilee clips. My racing two-strokes have that kind of Carb, although with the TZ Carb rubber. Many of my friends race bikes have the same fitment as you. You can use car radiator hose to make the appropriate rubber fitment.
An interesting head.

Hi tv175,
Thats a very neat conversion *smile*
You dont tell us where in the world you are located, which may help with the choice / availability of suitable  carbs
Flange mounting adaptors can be fitted to your head if space allows, these would attach to the head with simple rubber connectors as mentioned
My personal choice would be to fit stub fitting Mikuni VM carbs,  *smile*
Other than that how about trading me your twin carb head for a single carb one ????

Thanks a lot for Your answers. I'm from Finland.

I was wondering that this rubber inlet tube should be the best alternative

And John OR -  Don't You think the Dellorto shoud be good?

And what size should those carbs be? Or any other alternatives?

Carb size should really match the manifold size. How wide are the manifold's inside diameter?

Mikuni, Dellorto.. Any carb that fits is fine - they all do the same job!
