hi all, my ameter is jumping around like crazy, 12 volt ,battery looks like its charging ok, doing my head in .
-
Probably just the ammeter, on the back of the ammeter you should be able to see a tiny screw, try winding it in ever so slightly. If there is no screw then a new ammeter is in order.

Most of the cheap 30/- ameters aren't damped. You can get Lucas ones for around twice the price. In uk around £25

I have an ammeter from an Indian Enfied fitted to my A10 - they are damped and illuminated (useful at night) - also can be got for under £4 on ebay.

Welcome Ted,
Thanks for that piece of info. I've never liked the fact that only the speedo. is lit,
always looks as if the other two dials should be lit but the bulbs have blown!
Cheers, enjoy the forum.

You can also drill a small hole in the back and fill it with oil works a treat.
