Hi Frank! Nice to see you on board...

Without looking at the numbers data which I dont have to hand. You can get a starting idea from the bikes cylinderhead. If its an Iron one then Gold Flash but Alloy then you can start thinking its a Road Rocket or Super Rocket. Are there any 'RR' marks stamped after the engine numbers anywhere?

Hi LJ & Frank
That engine number is good for a 1960 Golden Flash.
But the bottom ends were the same on the Sports and cooking models, even down to the camshaft in the later ones. Now my Blue Flash has the '357 cam and alloy head, so is it really a Road/Super Rocket or still a Flash?
Is such Status fixed at birth or pragmatically based on performance? Or indeed paint scheme.
Back to work
Mike

P.S. are you coming to Hants BSAOC camp this weekend Laurence or anyone else?

Hi Mike...

Not sure if I'll be able to make the Hampshire Camp this weekend, Indeed the last two years camps have been really well worth attending with good run outs. Fully recommended to anyone else contemplating on going.

May or may not see you. cheers Mike.

According to BSA lists, engine is from a 1960 Golden Flash; frame is 1961.

Perhaps it is a cobbled together nail made from old honda C90 Parts and a generous helping of Raleigh Chopper  Bits. Painted red

According to my list downloaded from somewhere, Ga7 frames are 1960 and 61

DA10 xxxxx would be Flash.
Da10 R xxxxx would be Super Rocket

High compression engines had HHC stamped below the engine numbers.

Thats "high compression", as in something like 7.5 / 1 which I think the flash had 58 on.
