Title: weight of A10 plunger engine
Post by: Gavin on 12.08. 2012 14:14
Can anyone supply me with the estimated weight of an A10 plunger engine, minus gearbox and generator please?

Thanks,
Gavin.

No clue, but very tempting to say, "Weigh the bike before disassembly, then, remove the engine. Remove gearbox and dynamo from engine, laying them back on the bike. Weigh the bike again. Subtract latter from former. Voila!" *smile*

I can see more clearly why they made a musical named simply "Chicago" there's a priceless line in it... "he had it coming... he only had himself to blame"... Now all we need to do is work out where the subject of that line is you or me manosound  !!!

I'm sure SRM could tell you. They must post them regularly.

Roy Bacon page 38 says 130lb... so I'll go with that. Thanks for the entertaining responses.

I weighed mine a few weeks ago before I stripped it down again.
Complete I think was 79kg(?), with G/box(10kg), genny(~3.2kg), maggie(~1.9kg), banana(145grm)
So alone,=~64kg, a bit of a lug down the stairs, 30mtrs up the back yard, then return to strip it!!
Fairly sure I wrote it down but can't find where.
     Cheers
