Here we have a nice piece of nostalgia, lots of B.S.A's and riding tips that are as relevant now as they were then.

Hi Metalflake, glad you posted this I saw it years ago and others when I worked for Horsmans during the 60's, in fact the old buzzard at the start was the guy who hired me , a certain Eric Lambert, very into road safety ,advanced driving and competions , one of the guys in film was his passenger on his jaunts doing the monty carlo rally , we had a BMC dealerships which inc MG'S and mini coopers . I tried to post this about 2 weeks ago but my well known lack of computer knowhow struck again and I failed . They were the best bike shop in Liverpool and my A10 I still have was purchased from them , Great memories BobH

Aren't these old films brilliant !
Watching this one lead me on Youtube to "Look, Signal, Manoeuvre" from 1965 which is just so nostalgic on my younger riding days.
Memories of those golden days of innocence (and some pretty reckless riding!)
This grainy 2 part photo was taken from my Mum's cine film shot in 1968 and is the only record of me on my 1965 C15 .

I must have relatives still in the UK. Tom's friend must be one. *smile*
If you use signals like those here now you'd be booked for neg driving. Could never understand signaling to slow down with your brake hand off the bars.
Cheers

Hand signals are not part of the UK driving test anymore. I'm wondering how I'll get on with my a10 without indicators. Mind you, many car owners here don't take the option to have winkers fitted on their cars: silly winkers!!

Great piece of film. Love it!
Hollywood's stunt department could learn a thing or two from this *smile*

There is a hand signal though which is widely used these days. It's the upside down fist with the middle finger pointing upwards.
I tried to look it up in the highway code, but I can't find any explanation for it *sarcastic*

Could also not understand how Tom drives off with his hand off the gas handle.
His Matchless must have had a good low rev torque and a sweet clutch.

Economy version of the original two fingers wave, saves on energy
