Hey mate a few weeks back you seemed to be a tad warm with a fire or 3 close by. How did it go?

G'day Gav, still a bit of smoke about, came within a few miles of here.
Poor buggers up North are copping a bit of H2O at moment. My sister reported 12" in two hours yesterday, 10" the day before.
Nice and cool 20C overcast here right now but wood like a little rain. The grass is very dry and the lawn crunches under foot  ;). *whistle*
Cheers

looks like ya sisters waters are well n truly broken then mate... I would imagine that as a good brother with a BSA that don't always make it home each trip, you have already given her some tips on how to push..... bet she didn't appreciate it either... Sisters can be strange creatures on the odd occasion. Ay?

Gday Musky & the Trevs,
The remains of cyclone Oswald is heading your way.
You won't have to worry about crunchy lawn or fires if that arrives on your doorstep.
Its a long time since i've seen rain and wind like that.
Its almost washed Qld away.
Had the missus cleaning out gutters and trimming trees.
The mowing can wait till next weekend.
cheers

It's been raining for two days now and getting heavier.
With a bit of luck it will wash Sydney away.

the suns out today after 4 days of battering, no damage to report though, just tree branches,
just brought a chainsaw on ebay, it will get a workout this w/end,

News Flash. We're not doing bad.
JUST  IMAGINE...

If you had bought $1,000.00 of Qantas shares one year ago, you would
have $49.00 today!

If you bought $1,000.00 AIG shares one year ago, you would have $33.00
today!

If you bought $1,000.00 worth of Lehman Brothers shares  one year ago,
you would have $0.00 today!

BUT....  if you purchased $1,000.00 worth of beer one year ago, drank
all the beer, then returned the  aluminium cans for recycling....
  YOU WOULD HAVE RECEIVED  $214.00!!!

BASED ON THE ABOVE, THE BEST CURRENT INVESTMENT PLAN IS TO
   DRINK HEAVILY AND RECYCLE!

AND, DID YOU KNOW...

A recent study found that the average Aussie walks 900 MILES A YEAR!!!

Another study found that Aussies drink, on average, 22 GALLONS OF ALCOHOL A YEAR!!!

THAT MEANS THAT, ON AVERAGE, AUSSIES GET...41 MILES TO THE GALLON.

MAKES YOU PROUD TO BE AN AUSSIE DOESN'T IT?

Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmm, I must have a uneconomical V8 in me, I dont get  anywhere near 41 mpg. I drink my share but I might have trouble with the 900 miles part, what does it work out to if you only walk 9 miles per year  *eek* *eek* *eek*

Beer & Barbies........is that all you Aussies think about? What about B.S.A.s for a change. Have a great Australia Day, after all you were all UK convicts in the beginning & have to have something to celebrate! Cheers!

Come on Stu,
Some of us are descended from the soldiers who accompanied the convicts.
They were no better than the convicts, though. Probably much worse!
Anyway, from whom did we get our love of the amber? It certainly wasn't from the Aborigindiginees! I must admit, though, they were fast learners.
I spent Australia Day in Sydney wandering around the Motorfest.
Too many cars and not enough bikes but were all well worth seeing. Also far too many people.
And we had to drink our beer from plastic tumblers! Unaustralian!

I think it's funny how that convict thing keeps on popping up,
"I know where I'd rather live", & where most of the BSA's live! *smile*

Yeah, Cus.
I reckon those Pommys are dirty because their ancestors didn't get caught!

I prefer to think of Ozzies and New Zealanders standing shoulder to shoulder with us at places like Gallipoli and Tobruk. Between us we lost 31,430 brave men in the former, and repelled the might of Rommel's Africa Corps in the latter......... Brave men, one and all.
My only two problems with you is. 1/. What the bloody hell were New Zealanders thinking when they became the first country to give women the vote?......... 2/.Ozzies, stop pretending Canberra is your capital. Ask 99% of the rest of the world and they will tell you it's Sydney. It wasn't a very good joke in the first place and it didn't improve with age!

Metalflake, I think your more than halfway to being an Aussie anyway: you are often online at my midday lunchbreak, which must be middle of night in UK!

Musky, love your stats ,as a financial adviser I'd say you are on the button , (particularly the AIG info I was a manager for them for my sins ) infact should you wish i could appoint you as our rep in your wonderful country ,partime of course, so as not to interfere with the biking however that would entail you coming to the uk for a 2 week training course part of which would be to drink your entire 22 gallons yearly amount of alcohol ,! (each week ) We'd be forced to help as well, hic !! Or do we go down the postal route ,just how much beer can you get into an A4 envelope?? and you'd have to dry out the paperwork, ,best wishes BobH

Thanks for the job offer Bob. Will have to get into shape as my weekly average is 3 gallon of beer and a pint of muscat, but I would be lucky to walk 5 miles, thats why I have motorcycles. Will have to make it around IOM time, one of the pubs on the course as a venue.
I believe what we do here is a form of recycling.
Cheers
