Title: A7 Scavenge pipe
Post by: olev on 18.10. 2008 12:32
gday,
I need to replace the scavenge pipe in the timing side crankcase of my A7.
It is a very tight fit.
Does anyone have any tips for removing the old one other heating the case, then grabbing the tube with a set of multigrips and giving it a good twisting and reefing.
Is there any tricks replacing it. Obviously the seal to the case is critical or it will suck in air.
cheers, Tom

Hello, I think you have outlined the process already, just be careful to not break the tube so that any parts remain stuck in the case alu, use patience and go slowly until it starts moving. I'd think a dash of green loctite on the new pipe at insertion would do good. Good luck

And neither is loctite.
