Title: Re Info on Dynamo sprocket
Post by: bikemadinspain on 09.02. 2013 19:31
Hi, after much head scratching and lots of should I shouldent I, I have decided to make a decision, and that is not to believe anything the previous owner has told me. Subsequently I am now doing a full engine strip and rebuild. However, I have come across a problem getting off the Dynamo Driving Sprocket, I can only assume that I now need a puller? or has anybody figured any other way to get it off. Or can I leave it on and continue to strip the engine and it be held in that casing when I take the inner one apart?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

G'day mate, you can leave it on and take the inner cover off. The idler gear will come away too. Once the cover os off you can support it on timber blocks and give the shaft a good knock to remove the sprocket.
Cheers

Gentlemen thanks very much. I will set about stripping it totally down in the morning. Its a good job I did decide to strip it I have already found two hugh problems that would have made my day a bad day on starting, all the best from Spain.
