Title: QD Hub problem
Post by: Oscarmark on 01.05. 2013 12:43
Hi Guys,
I bought a new drum / sprocket for my RGS Rep (42 teeth) along with new nuts bolts and the tab washers to fix the driving flange on. I also ordered new bearings. When the hub arrived I noticed that the diameter of the bearing recess was about 50mm whereas the diameter of the original was about 57mm. It was a cheap one supplied by Len Craig of Great Yarmouth ( cost about £60 ) I therefore sent it back for a refund. However I also ordered a new circlip part number 67-6034. I tried to fit it to my existing hub but it is too small It seems that the new drum may have been correct and my old one is not??
I am happy to stick with my existing hub as I was only replacing it for cosmetic reasons. Any ideas?

Also, does anything fit between the Rear Brake Outrigger Strap 67-6046 and the brake cover plate?

Thanks in anticipation

Mark

Mark,
Could it be that your original drum is a plunger one? Plunger drum has a larger bearing, RLS8.
Swinging arm has RLS7, same as the hub.
