Has anybody had experiance with the new ( hepolite) pistons. I am thinking of trying some.thanks

Hi Bob,
These are the far east made pistons sold by Wassell
I have used them BUT had to fit "proper" rings as the ones supplied were crap
apparently they now come with USA made Hastings rings, but I believe there are plenty around with the bad rings

Crap rings had massive end gaps !!!!

yep, seems like might be a plan these days to budget for new rings whenever pistons are bought.
 add to that the fact that in modern stuff rings come ready correctly gapped (wouldn't want mechanics get their hands dirty on a file now would we).
I've bought three sets of pistons since 2000 and all of them had rings with gaps to large, and that included a set of AE (which was Hepolite in US I think )
These days a name is just that - a name - has nowt to do with past glories

(am I beginning to sound like an old F***) *shhh*
