Friend of mine just bought this for much money.Is that front guard original for a Rigid? Doesn't seem to match the contour of the rear? My 51 front guard is much slimmer, but I'm not saying that one is wrong.
Keep us posted on it's progress. Suggest the new owner join the forum.

Yes, was me.
Wilko I am 99.9% sure that guard is correct, it is correct by the parts book and identical to the one on my '51 plunger A10.

I simply have too many bikes (is that possible !) and I will have to live to be 200 years old to restore them all. I have decided to reduce my collection to about 10 bikes to make it all a lot more manageable both physically and financially. I restored the Star Twin and did about a thousand miles on it and it has sat under a cover in my shed since, that was almost 4 years ago. I like to see bikes ridden not gathering dust so hopefully someone else will get some enjoyment out of it.
The rigid will make a nice bike when its restored and by all accounts quite rare, that one has known matching frame and engine. It was sold new in Adelaide in 1951.

This is my 51 rigid; bought new from Mortlock Motorcycles in Hay Street, Perth, then ridden 1,000 km back to Laverton, over mainly gravel roads!
The guard is fully valenced, like Brian's (ex) bike.
A lovely machine to ride; I do it often (as the Actress said to the Bishop).

Perhaps someone has a picture of the bolt on oil feed block ? Different from a swinging arm one. Dont know what to look for on ebay.

Oil pipe union with pipes # 67-1461. I saw one on ebay not that long back.
