Title: A10 Dynamo chain lubrication
Post by: Erico on 16.06. 2014 23:57
Has anyone successfully tapped the inner timing cover and fitted a grease nipple to pump in grease to lube the dynamo chain  *????* Thanks

Why would you bother? The chain gets plenty of lubrication if it is packed properly with the correct grease.

G'day Erico,  *welcome*.
To answer the question, yes. A new girl in my club has a long stroke with that done. I'm not sure what greese it was but what a mess when I took the cover off  *eek*.
I agree with Trev.
Cheers

Thanks for the welcome guys. The reason I asked the question is I've rebuilt the engine and only smeared a bit of grease on the chain. Its oil tight and after having to do everything twice because of rubbish gaskets slipping and sliding out of all the joints. I don't want to take things apart again. I just want ride the thing.  I've flattened off all mating joints  on a surface plate with WD40 and fine wet and dry. Red instant gasket give that old timer look and works a treat, no leaks.  Talk soon  *smiley4*
