Title: Replica Tricon switch _ follow up to charging problem
Post by: tiggy on 23.07. 2014 11:09
Thanks for the responses to an earlier post regarding a charging problem. Unfortunately tried everything and still not charging.
In desperation I am going back to checking the wiring yet again. (new loom).
Has anyone successfully incorporated a replica tricon handle bar switch into their wiring system?
I cannot find any diagrams showing the connections. 5 wires, 2 red, 1 pink, 1 brown, 1 black/red.
The way I have connected it everything works but this is the only part of the wiring system I cannot find a diagram to check against.
Cheers

Those colours do not correspond to the colour  codes on any A10 wiring diagram that I have seen. A couple of points that my MOT tester mentioned  to me. The red button should operate the cut out, and the dip switch should be in the up position for main beam and down for dip. If I remember correctly, my Tricon switch was supplied with no wires attached. I had to solder the wires in place myself so my switch has the correct colours, and they are as follows. Blue connects light switch terminal 2 to the dip switch feed. Blue and red, and blue and white connect the dip switch to the head lamp bulb, the horn (black button) wire is brown and black, and the engine kill button (red) is connected to a black wire. However, if you have connected everything up and it works correctly then don't worry about it. Just make sure that you make a note of what wire goes where, and what it does for future reference.
