Title: Worrying advert on ebay
Post by: A10 JWO on 15.10. 2014 12:28
Hi Lads.
There is a very nice Norton Atlas on ebay for ONLY £3,620. Poor description. Something is not right. Being sold by Tiggywalls ! I have checked their history and they do not appear to have anything to do with bikes. There is a note on advert 'email seller'. This bike should sell for double. Is this a scam, I think they are just after a deposit. Other members have had their ID stolen. Any Detectives out there.

Regards.

Certainly looks to good to be true it checks out on the DVLA website as not taxed but has a current MOT until 2015 and is 1966 you would be foolish to part with any money until going to see it and checking out all the paperwork.

Thanks for that, I emailed the seller yesterday and left my contact details. No replies yet. Why has no one snapped it up, something wrong there.

Now the other guy is back, a John Player Noton Commando for £4,000 and all his other vehicles, Mexico Escorts, speedboats etc etc. Don't ebay have an early warning system or do they rely on forums to report these. What is the correct procedure for reporting these to ebay, is it the report item button, then what. This seller is either having a laugh or deadly serious, he won't lay down !!!Ta

Yep is the report item button
then
paste the item number into the box to the left for the find button this one is 261630089993
Press find and it should display picture and listing title
click on report item button on this screen
select a category 'listing practises'
select reason 'fraudulent listing activities'
select details reason 'you suspect that the listing is fraudulent'
click on continue
click on send report

Done that thanks.
Found another fraudster.  They have lifted a Norton Jubilee advert from Steve Birch M/C's at Ivybridge Devon and put in their own phone number in GREECE. I have emailed Steve but they are closed for the weekend. This team are after telephone deposits with your visa card !!!! If anyone knows Steve, give him a call.
I am getting good at this.

These people are now lifting dealers adverts and placing their own phone number on the add. I found a few yesterday that have been infected. I am in the process of emailing these dealers. I am getting good at spotting these in my retirement. ( Karma ? ) LOL : )

The number for these frauds so far is 03309001587. They are presented at the start of the ebay add by the price.
