Finally got to Denver and picked up my chassis. It's a 1954 swingarm with Akront rims. The rear hub was chromed in days past and apparently there is a spool that should be riveted into the crinkle hub; however, it was bolted and double nutted!
Doesn't show it in the parts book as separate pieces, but should be pretty obvious when I get it apart.

G'day Jachenbach, the fun starts now. We call it bush mechanics down here, you may be able to resurrect it or a replacement won't be hard to find.

The rivets in mine were loose, so I carefully welded them in, a bit well dodgo I know but what else could I do...

Originally it should be riveted, but I did my crinkle hub with 8 stainless steel reduced head 5/16 bolts and nuts which I turned myself on the lathe.
On the inside there's just enough room for the nuts. That, tightened with some Loctite, looks really neat if I may say so myself.

Crikey Morris, the back wheel is supposed to be the grotty end of the bike. *conf*. It's either an ornament in the games room or you don't use lubricants. ;)

Well... ehmm... I overdid it a bit I know. *red*
But it's gonna be grotty soon now. Waiting the arrival of a petrol tank, and with springtime coming up it's time to hit the road and make it dirty *beer*
