Title: BSA Fork Stanchion Lengths Long and Short?

I have two sets of BSA/Ariel stanchions, one is A7SS 1856. The other is identical in every respect, but about 1 inch shorter. For which bike would that be?

I'm not 100% sure but I know some of the early A50/65 models had shorter stanchions.

Musky's right there. 21" stanchions are for early A50/65 with 18" wheels
