compression gauge
« on: 10.03. 2026 22:49 »
last fall when I put the A10 away I checked the compression and got a shock as its a new build with maybe 1000 klm .
compression was the same on both cylinders but it read 50 psi !
I thought thats weird it runs fine starts first kick most of the time and the plugs a bit rich but no oil on them .
being as its been a really cold snowy winter here I didnt venture back out to the shed until yesterday contemplating stripping the top end down I thought I will just check it again and the reading on both cylinders was 105 psi I then realized I was using 2 different gauges  I checked again with the other one and it came back at 50 again so obviously the gauge needs looking at or tossed in the bin but it was good to find the reason before stripping it down .
the gauge with the low reading I have had over 50 years so I guess I owe it a check before I toss it because its the first time this has happened .
Soon be riding time here again keep the rubber side down .
