Hook/shark fin on frame
« on: 03.10. 2014 22:39 »
So.. I found this little thing that looks a little like a shark fin welded on the left side of the frame under the seat, and was wondering if anyone knows what it's for? Side car use?

Just curious  *smile*

Hi Andreas,
Its to take the pump for inflating the tyres, theres another pointed part pointing upwards towards it on the swing arm gusset

My mate bought a beautifully original 1926 L25(?). The owner had put it in storage at the start of the war, raising it on ropes to protect the tires, and removing the mag and storing that in his airing cupboard.

I remember the joy in discovering the original pump which the owner had etched the bike reg. no. , and his name and address into in case it should get lost.
Lovely piece of the bikes history. That bike has not been "restored" I'm glad to say.
