Still does. Few years ago I had the job of fitting a new engine to a boat where the 400hp inboard engine was wrecked in under an hour's running after the owner decided it'd be a good idea to 'treat' it to an oil change using the latest high detergent oil.

so here we go with another oil thread, good one Neil!
First thing I note in that paper release is the english sounds a bit "indian" to me, are you convinced its authentic? However, the logic does make sense and is in keeping with some of the prior oil threads' arguments wrt the crankshaft traps vs circulating suspended solids....BUT it makes no mention of the use of an oil filter which many owners have now added and which make perfect sense to use in conjunction with modern detergent oils IMO!
