A10 Remote oil filter oil lines
« on: 10.07. 2025 18:10 »
I going to be fitting a Norton type spin on oil filter to my 61 A10.  The question I have is the return oil line has flared ends.  How does one go from that to the push on oil lines that feed the filter housing?  I tried searching the forum but couldn't find the info.  Thanks to all who responds.

I cut the crimp and hose from an old line then pushed the new hose on the fitting and secured with a hose clamp. You could also take your fittings to a local hydraulic hose shop and buy the correct adaptors.  The return has low pressure so no need to get too elaborate, I've used fuel hoses and hose clamps on a few bikes over the years without issue.

I cut the pipe a littl way past the bend, and used a piece of hose to connect it to the filter from the oil tank.  On the other end, simply a piece of hose from the oil pipe tail to the filter (all secured using hose clamps).  I've done around 2500m with this arrangement with no issues.

In the pics, you'll see the filter is between the engine plates where the ski slope would be.  I've also attached a couple of thick rubber strips to the mounting holes of the filter to protect it from vibration.

Aye, it's certainly busy Jools - but no leaks!
