My local VMCC section welcomes anyone on a bike. All you need is an interest in older bikes. Some of the older members ride small new bikes because that's what they can manage.
They organise some excellent runs and I even go on some (I'm no fan of riding in a crocodile), starting off last and usually getting to the lunch stop first. Can't let good bends go to waste after all. They also have a van of shame, quite useful should your Velo strip its fibre ATD.

G'day BS.
Same as I do. Fun isn't it? Just like being back on the track.
Cheers

I'm afraid my view of the VMCC is more negative than positive. Too many "old mates" with their in-jokes being totally unwelcoming to newcomers/outsiders, and being derogatory to the newies' bikes for no good reason.
As said above, an average club night is three cars and two BMW's and a chat about old Herbie's New Imp and "will he get it finished now he's turned 90?"
The mag is better now to be fair, as some years ago it was endless drab "I have to write 500 words for my section report and I really don't want to do it,  but I'll give a report on our three-person visit to the local knitting needle museum and that'll do"
Then there's the on-line forum where silly old men act like petulant teenagers, and post minutiae from the rule book like barrack room lawyers.
Apart from all that, the VMCC is great.. ;)

I have a good spare if you haven't found one yet.

I rebuilt it with a steel pinion. Should be good for at least the next 70 years. Thanks for the comprehensive photo guide Andrew!
