Finally got the A7 running more easily,
Had a  near disaster experience with my newly reconditioned magneto,what I thought was the right extractor damaged the end of the mag  thread a salutary reminder to stop when tired and interrupted by phone calls. reclaimed with a thread file.

I have finally taught myself how set the timing on a K2F. I would fitted the covers and tank with Velcro if it took any longer.

My clutch appears to work I may even get to ride it.

I don't think there was much wrong with the other mag now looking for a spin on end casting for a late manual K2F., I will rebuild that with new parts next week. Its got a new capacitor and and armature

I will take the old death trap for a spin tomorrow

Nice new clutch has stuck together so has to come apart !

and its not starting that much easier

I have had to lock the hammer cupboard and leave it, welcome to BSA ground hog day !!

Hi Steve,
Most times its possible to "jarr" the clutch free!!
put the bike in gear and rock backwards and forwards with the clutch pulled in!
OR
If you can get a push when starting off its possible to get the bike into gear
try riding a short distance with the clutch pulled in accelerating and decellerating

I have tried shocking it but it doesnt want to play,and I cant stand the clunk the gears make.

Being new the plates are probably quite dry, felt rough yesterday and today so I have had delay the inevitable for the while
