worn out old bore post
« on: 19.11. 2015 21:07 »
hi to all those in the know. for my later on a7 project i m looking at engine repairs and have found my a1 condition big fin barrels on a worn +60. there is loads of meat left and would probably take std a10 pistons but are there any 68mm pistons that will fit or any dealer offering +80 shooting star pistons?

Richard - sorry for the thread drift but it's what we attempt to pass off as 'humour' here to the west of London.

Eddie - if only I'd had your foresight and good fortune.

G'day Ed.
Notrun 600 and 650 twins use 68mm bore as standard but I don't know if the crown height or pin size are the same. A handy chart   http://www.britcycle.com/products/Pistons_Rings.pdf

unfortunately norton pistons have offset valve recess to the gudgeon pin. the motorcycle piston company can supply 68mm to order for an a7 so once i am flush i ll make the call. well done klaus.
