Helicoil, insert or tap out to next size ?

I can't find the post now, but did you say that you tighten the head bolts to about 33 LBS Bill ?

According to SRM, the torque settings for all cylinder head bolts on the BSA A7 and A10 models from 1950 onwards is 32 foot-pounds.

the above is a bit at odds with settings given elsewhere that refer to  27LB/ft for thinner bolts used up to 59 or somewhere around there but I reckon SRM know what there talking about, I've had no problems at 32 or 33 if it was that, any of our race boys reading this might want to comment as your engines will be getting more wellie than most of us give them

 I know a couple of completely competent mechanics that I would not trust to helicoil
Plastic.

 I think it's one of those things a guy can either do,  or can't.  Really does not seem to be any reason for it.
