Hi Brian,
Nice work indeed *smile*
The corners of the conrod cutouts look a bit sharp in places *????*
Radius these out or radius undercut the corners to prevent cracks appearing

Cheers

Yes thats amongst a couple of jobs yet to be done to these cylinders. They also have a couple of head bolt threads that are not perfect so will need inserts and I have to hone and measure up the bores to see just how worn they are. Visibly they look quite good so if they measure up within a acceptable spec I might be able to get some miles out of them before they need boring.

Just a thought Brian, if you are using the barrels in an engine with billet rods the slots will need to be wider...so you could defer the job of rounding edges etc, until you know the required width.

I just took a deep breath and used an angle grinder to make the slots wider for my bike.

I have been using bbq plates for fins...and brazing them on..
I get the plates off from council garbage days... sitting out waiting for the garbage trucks
if you get lucky ...some have a tapered plate..saves a bunch of grinding  the cutoffs work well as wedges to hold all in place
