rear fork question
« on: 13.01. 2016 19:48 »
Hello,
I have a question about the swing arm (rear fork) of my 1954 frame. The swing arm fork had a plunger type hub and brake plate mounted and I intend to built it back to original spec. Now I need to know if the dimensions of the plunger type rear hub sleeve and the later swing arm sleeve are the same. I don't know if this (see picture) is original or if  somebody modified the hole to fit the plunger type sleeve.
Maybe I have to ad some material by welding and reground it to the original dimension.

Thanks a lot, Hans.

Hi Hans,
the hole had to be 11/16 inch or 17,40mm. These are also the dimentions for the swing arme sleeve.

cheers Klaus

Thanks Klaus,
the diameter of this hole is around 21mm. *eek*
Is 17,40mm the dimension of the 54 QD-type hub sleeve?

Cheers Hans.
