Like edboy, I am a fan of Loctite 222.  With it you can not overtighten nuts and rely on them not going AWOL.  On another matter, have just undone the d/s mainshaft nut on the RGS, which had had Loctite blue applied.  I reckon it needed nearly 200ft lbs to start it.
