RGS lower fork legs
« on: 23.01. 2016 05:52 »
G'day All,
I'm fitting an RGS style front guard/fender to my 1962 Super Rocket.
Now that requires a tab each side on the lower to bolt the stays on.  Also the upper tabs need to be further up the leg for the centre brackets.  I'm currently running the standard 8" full width hub.
Is there another model BSA from which I can source the correct legs?

Ta

Hi, this my SR with the same kit that you're planning to use. Provided you have the correct brackets everything should fit (I think)

Yes, that looks fine, however the lower fork legs on mine has only rear tabs for the guard stays and the centre mounts are lower than the RGS ones.   Its all original too so perhaps different for the '62?

Hi oldvet,
The lower fork legs you are after are one year only from what I have been told and possibly a65 era. I do have a pair for a future project, and I've seen some come up for sale from time to time, but they are rare. Hope the photo helps
Cheers Thomas

Thanks Thomas, they look like the fellas I need.  If anyone has further info on the specific model to which they were originally fitted, I'm all ears.

Has anyone got any thoughts as to what the 'S' or the brake torque lug signifies? Is it on any other slider with the same torque lug?

Unlikely to relate the any model it might have been fitted to in my opinion.

Paul.

The ones you want were fitted to the 1958/9 models.

I think you're on the money there Trev.   So now got to try and locate an available pair.

If anyone reading this has a set they would be prepared to part with, please get in touch with me.  If no luck any sooner maybe Ballarat swap meet eh.

Thanks .
