Breather?

What is the tube coming from the top of the engine? some sort of breather? Should it be filtered?

only tube I can think of is the oil feed to the rockers  definitely not a breather

The webco rocker box covers typically include a breather fitting. My exhaust side standard cover has been modified to be my outlet breather so does go to a breather bottle and runs via a Bunn oneway valve (out only).
But as standard A10's just have the one timed breather on the drive side behind the cam as previously pictured in this thread.
So any further breathers would be non standard mods for the go-fast brigade

Yes it appears to be a fitting with length of hose from the rear rocker cover. Should the hose go to any particular place? This is a standard A10 Super Rocket. Thanks

yes rocker breather - I've always wondered why, if there's excess pressure up there it's surely coming from somewhere it shouldn't or am I missing something?

Hi All,
THe original timed breather is designed to create a partial vacuum within the engine cases
Adding another open breather does away with the vacuum effect
as Bill says

The standard breather works very well once correctly set up

all the breathers in existance wont make up for engine problems
