Measuring brake hubs
« on: 10.02. 2016 11:19 »
I am going to order rims and spokes from Devon, and want to get this correct the first time.

My bike is a 58 flash. I see on Draganflys parts pages there should be a 7 inch full width cast iron hub out back, which there is. It even looks like the picture.

The question I have is how do I measure the front to see if I have an 8 inch or a 7 inch full width cast hub? Now common sense tells me to measure the inner drum brake shoe surface, if its 7 inches across its a 7 inch hub, if its 8, then its an 8 inch.

But having redone cars, I know not to put common sense before reality. So to get this right on the first go, is that how BSA did this? Or was it more than just that simple?

G'day Lee.
You got it right, diameter of the drum. Should be an 8".
Cheers
