wb, how do you get around the pin height difference? To use them I had to use A10 rods and shorten then a couple of mm.

Britman,

First,  *welcome*

I wonder how you happened to discover the forum. Google? We're always interested in knowing how a new member came to own their A7/A10 and, of course, photos are great.  Maybe you are so new to British bikes or computers that you are not familiar with the well-known online parts distributors. The first three that I just checked all appear to have the pistons you're looking for:

Britishonly.com
Degroot-bsa.nl
vintage-motorcycle.com

Let us know if you need more choices.

Having said this, I now need to check to see if we have a topic where all known online distributors are listed.

If you happen to have a ton of questions, no problem, folks here are happy to help. If you happen to have a ton of help to give, folks here (like myself), appreciate it.

Richard L.

IF you use JP's and I use them nearly exclusively .
Do not under any circumstances fit the rings supplied with them.
They just will not bed in no matter what you do.
Stick them on evilbay and buy some Hastings, Hepolites. Wellworthy. Perfect Circle or Total Seals.

Some are very expensive indeed but Lyford Classics (UK)  have cheaper made in Taiwan. You can also get the same ones but with better rings ( non Taiwan rings). Unless you intend racing your A7sss these should do fine. Otherwise you can look high and low and wont find many.

Yes it's worth noting you need at least 8:1 for an A7SS, but not for an ordinary A7.
