Golden Flash tank badges.
« on: 20.03. 2016 10:15 »
Hi, does anybody know if the mounting hole distance on Golden Flash tank badges remains the same for plunger frame models for all production years or were there variations. My replica badges are 3 3/4" or 95mm centres which I believe to be correct for plunger and swinging arm models.
Or. Are the plunger tank badges 67 8070 and 71 Different from the swinging arm tank badges?
Thanks in advance, Rich.

I think that the badges are the same. The only difference that I have found is that some are brass and some are aluminium.

I managed to end up with one of each  *smile* and my swing arm model measures at 95mm

Thanks gentleman, I thought there'd only be one size.

What I'd like to know is are the badges used on the side panels of A65 the same size as the earlier tank badge?

Thanks for that Graybeard, I've just rang my mate who has a pair. He's going to pop around with them for my inspection.
Cheers and beers, Rich.

Hola GB, apart from that the A65 ones don't have 'Golden Flash' on them and are probably flat, otherwise I don't know.

I bought some a while ago on fleabay, and they are some kind of pressed metal; is that normal, or are they originally some kind of (diecast) setup*????*

Started building in about 1977/8 a on average '52 A10 -built from bits 'n pieces never resto intended -maybe 'personalised'
Have a '74 850T Moto Guzzi since '92-best thing I ever bought doesn't need a kickstart 'cos it bump starts sooooooooo(mostly) easy

They might be OK for someone desperate for some.

My ones which I'm sure are genuine appear to have been pressed from aluminium.
