Hi mate, that`s a good looking project you`ve got there! It looks to me just like a `57 gold flash with a `62 super rocket engine as you said, although if you came across a picky rivet counter, you might be told the rear mudguard brackets are the one piece arrow head type introduced in 1960, and the fuel tank, i think is slightly earlier as it may have had a round badge tank in 1957, but then i believe certain export bikes had the winged badge on in`57. Someone will probably prove me wrong on this but either way, as far as restoring a `57 flash with a `62 rocket motor goes, that is an enviable task you have there, because it`s complete and doesn`t look like it`s been standing around for too long.
Good luck and happy restoring!

Good website... I love reading what other people are up to with their bikes, I know it takes a lot of time but it makes most enjoyable reading. Thanks!

Having looked it up, i believe you DO have the correct tank for a 57 flash.
Shoulda looked it up first.

Nice bike, divers helmet nacelle is correct for 57, and the Ariel hubs too.

Hi and welcome to the forum.

You have a nice 1957 A10 Golden Flash there and it appears to be correct in every way except for the later A10R engine.  It should be a reasonably easy restoration project because everything is there.  Keep us posted with the progress.

Don't forget to take plenty of close-up pictures while it is in a complete state.  They will help when you are putting it back together.

Smoke is from a Rolls Royce that we had to move to get to the bikes  *smile*

Thanks everybody for comments now time to start pricing visible things wrong with bike...
