I've seen that picture before, and there is very little to dislike about anything being displayed there.

I know they didn't sell Rocket Gold Stars at all in 1956-57.

Quite right Triton, I think Muskie just had a senior moment  *dribble* *pull hair out*
New Zealand

1956 A10 Golden Flash (1st finished project)

1949 B31 rigid “400cc hot rod” (2nd finished project, + favourite bike)

1949 C11 rigid, but why!!! (cos it was cheap)

1937 B21, project missing parts, mission impossible?

GL1800 Goldwing, well, the wife likes it

KTM 950 ADV, cos it’s 100% nuts

1952 Armstrong Siddeley Whitley for rainy days (with wife

Pretty sure Muskie is right and '56 and '57 were the years for Ariel brakes. If you have Bacon's "Twins and Triples" book, check page 47. Betty's bike (don't worry, I don't really think it was her's)  was apparently a Road Rocket.

This just seems like a case of the poster not knowing what model it is and calling it an RGS. I don't see any reason to think of this as RGS. Correct me if I'm wrong.

Good point, however you may have been around old bikes a bit too long

Selective reading. I didn't get past the "Betty Page".
I think your right Richard, the poster got it wrong. It's clearly a 56-57 RR. Timing cover rev box is another give away.
Cheers

"senior moment" I'm younger than most of you. But with 54 years of abuse, your probably right.

Well, just few years after '57  I was on the lookout for more definitive photos of ONE of the stars of this photo, even if it was just a flash.
