Check the BSAOC website and contact the BSAOC Librarian, Steve Foden.

I thought it was time I got a dating certificate for my machine. It's taken about a month but today I got a nice looking certificate from the Librarian at the BSAOC. The records show that the machine has its original engine. The bike was despatched to Slocombes Ltd, Neasden London, 29th March 1955, (still has their label on the rear mudguard/fender) finished in black and fitted with sidecar gearing.  *smile*

I'm hoping that the value of my machine may be enhanced by having it's original engine. What do you think?

I think so Greybeard. Matching #'s is always a + with any make. A dating cert proves it as our BSA's didn't have "matching #'s".
Cheers
