Not quite what I expected, close but what I'd call a 'Buzz-saw'.

When I was about 8 y.o on the farm we went to collect some firewood, and the guys rolled up with a Buzz-saw with what I think was a BSA engine, it looked kinda like this; buzz saw

A mate owns a jig similar to that in the first part for slicing logs, but his has a 'ladder truss' setup that lays over the log so the tip of the bar is supported by an outrigger slide that clamps to the end of the bar and slides on the other truss cord. That makes it easier to keep the bar parallel. I borrowed it for a while, but with no keeper under the outrigger slide, my Solo Rex was a bit heavy on the noisy end(~15kg), so I had to hold it up to keep it straight *eek*.

Yep, an old mate made a setup that used a 4' bar, also supported at the pointy end. Square logs fit on the truck easier *ex*
