Another good idea, but will stick with my copper gaskets, which are proving oil tight.

Just bought one, the one piece design will save the gaskets from sliding around  *smile*

Add another £11 to the cost of this and you can have a proper soft copper set of gaskets, from me, that will last at least six times as long, so cheaper in the long run. *smile*

The copper gaskets work fine on my swing arm motor with the head steady off the rockerbox. The new SRM gasket should work well on the rigid/plungers.

No not yet. I might make one before I drop the rebuilt motor in. Might be a while.
I saw that gasket a few days ago in the regular SRM email. I like drooling over the bits I can't afford.
Cheers

Makes me wonder if the British market is catching up here with composite gaskets. Most seem to work really well, but there are a couple of makers spitting out duds.

If the paper the silicone is bonded to is brittle, they split when you torque them down. I dont know if its one maker, but it always seems the ones that are Red are the ones to watch out for. Maybe its the kind of silicone, maybe its just one maker? *conf*

I've found the pale green ones split too on the rocker box and the cylinder base gasket.
