the scrapping of the tax disk should have saved dvla £640million it lost £80million will it return

They will be making money hand over fist from now on.
Now tax is not transferable with the vehicle.So if I sold you a vehicle on the 5th. and I had paid the tax till the following month you, as the new owner have to pay it again and I as a seller cant reclaim any part of a month only complete months.As an owner unless I have registered it as SORN I must keep it taxed.

Most transferred vehicles  are paying tax twice in the transfer month.

Yes, they've always stolen all of the part months when you SORN, and now they steal a month at change of owner. Outside of my older stuff which is exempt (pre '75 is it now?), I currently have seven vehicles on the road that I've had to stump up VED on. So as you can imagine it's a pet hate for me.

Yes,

Ive been stung since it started too.

And now if a SORN or untaxed vehicle passes a camera [unless you can show it was going to an MOT test] its possible to get up to a 1000 fine in your letterbox [and still owe the tax].
