Good info mate, but I'm talking 6 volt not 12v.
12v easy, but 6v not so easy to get.

A mate with a HD has gone through 2 lithium batteries in 6 months (@ $180 each). Apparently they don't like vibration and are touchy with charge voltage. He's gone back to AGM battery with no probs other than weight.
Cheers

He has problems with the weight of a battery on a HD?

hi guys, I like this statement:  If a bike with a lithium battery doesn’t spin your engine over quickly enough to start the bike on the first attempt wait a minimum 5 seconds to allow any temperature increase to spread through the cells and then thumb the starter again.cheers

My 2002 Heritage kept the original battery in her till 2015, & then I only replaced it as I sold the bike.

Yes, they don't like temperature changes, they don't stand up if they get shaken around, the recharge point is much closer to the fully charged voltage than a lead acid, plus they take a memory.

They are finicky on when you charge, how much you charge, and how fast you charge.

Ever notice if you leave your laptop or cell phone plugged in all the time, after a while it will tell you the battery is dead after a few minutes unplugged? That's what I mean by memory. It gets used to being at peak charge all the time, and as soon as it goes off it's near dead.

The technology is great, I just don't think it's ready for a motorcycle quite yet.

I have had a cyclon battery fitted to my A7 for about 3 years now goes inside the battery box OK just fit and forget, but I did read somewhere that you have to have an electronic voltage regulator to go with them I have a DVR2 fitted .

They've had electric starters since 1965.
