Big Earthquake
« on: 13.11. 2016 18:52 »
Hi guys, anyone in NZ got damaged bikes today, the whole country got a good rocking for about two minutes last night, mine is still upright but Christchurch was not as badly shaken as other parts so hopefully everyone is ok and safe, cheers

I didn't even bother getting out of bed for it in Rangiora and it was a pretty big shake, seems most of the damage is from the Hundalees upwards, wont be riding through there anytime soon

Glad to hear you are all OK. Saw the news yesterday and felt sad that your beautiful country has been hit again. My wife and I remember with much fondness our time in Christchurch for the BSA Club International Rally in 2010. After the rally we spent another three weeks touring, mainly around South Island, and we loved the place and the people. Thinking of you......

thanks guys for all the kind words, yes beezermacc it will take `time and money`(think that is a line from a George Harrison song) I digress. Christchurch was not effected this time but Kiacoura is munted only 1.1/2 hours away and good fishing spot totally cut off. Wellington area where KiWiGF is, has been very badly pounded most of civil servants there and parliament. Still our p.m. John Key says that we have got plenty money to fix things, we better have there is a general election next year, cheers

Next week I will have a look at it. Being in Christchurch and travel around the South Island for two weeks before we go North
Never seen the effects from an earthquake befor, hoping the streets we want to go are free.
Good to hear your are all ok.

No damage in Christchurch from this one, it won't be until you head North you might see some

Glad everyone is ok, it has been sad reading about this. Kiacoura was one of the many, many highlights from my trip last year, it is truly a beautiful country. Upon my return i said it was the best place I had ever been too but to far away, so I probably would not go again. But the last few weeks I have been checking on flight prices and think of things I did not get to do. Enjoy Klaus I am jealous  *smile*

No it is too far South.

I'm convinced that this 7 week I will stay at New Zealand, will be the best Hollidays I ever made.
Heavenly landscape, nice and helpfull people to meet, time stood still form everyday life, no care  about  what will be tomorrow.
Just one week to go  ;)
