Pre-war green
« on: 15.01. 2017 14:26 »
Hello!

I am thinking of having a café guise for my A 10, and want to use my B 40 smoothsided tank. I want to paint it pre-war green with matching emblems. But does anybody have a colour match for this green as used on Y 13 and many other models in the 1930'ies?

Hope that helps.

The RS Paint website in the UK lists the colour for the Y13 as Dark Brunswick Green. They can certainly provide the paint for that colour.

I get all my BSA paint from them. The father of the guy who runs it collected samples of most of the BSA bikes produced (and probably other marques as well) and so they are now able to produce the correct original colours.

Brunswick Green was not a colour but a whole series of blue/greens.
Now days it comes in light medium & dark.
BSA painted their bikes a different shade depending upon the finish.
Chromed tanks got a darker shade and cream side panels got a much lighter shade.
On the Pommie RAL named colours , forrest green is the best match you will get for the deep Brunswick Green.

Hello!
My BSA M22 tank from 1938 is painted with John Lewis Green E8197 which is similar to the old paint on the tank before it was repainted.
