Frame number location

Quick question, BSA A10 1952 PLUNGER, which side of the frame on the neck casting should the frame number be placed. I have so much paint on it , I cant see which side to clean to see it? Thanks

Clutch side, near the sidecar lug, (at least on my '55 plunger)

Yep, as GB says, left side downtube near the headstock
