https \ ssl 1st stage ...and next
« on: 06.06. 2017 20:35 »
In the process of implementing ssl ( https:// ) and it's partially done. Complete website content will be "ssl'ed" later.

One can now choose to use https://www.a7a10.net/forum/ to get rid of any 'not secure' message at login.

ok, went a few steps further and did not hear the sound of breaking glass  *smile*

If some of you (or many) could change into using https://www.a7a10.net/forum/ and check that all works as expected.

Thanks

I use a bookmark of www.a7a10.net/forum/index.php and it automatically went to https when going to any post or page. I did not even noticed.

That's interesting, as there is yet no forced redirect to https. Maybe the browser detects an existence of https on the website, what browser do you use ?

^^^ thanks, so the 1st visit from 'outside' goes to normal www, then any links 'inside' the forum calls https.
Very good, this shows that all adresses 'inside' the forum are correctly set as https.

A complete redirect to https (from very 1st visit) will be done a little later.

What MikeB said. I use Chrome, but as I do web stuff, I have ad a look in edge, IE, and Firefox. I dont have access to Safari today will try that later.

Should we update our shortcuts so that it does not have to redirect to HTTPS

As everything seems to work as planned (...as hoped :O), yes, update shortcuts in browser.

Thanks

Looks like the latest redirect experiments are working, so both

http://a7a10.net/forum
http://www.a7a10.net/forum

will correctly go to https
