Rear damper recommended settings ?

Good Morning ,

Ive just been giving My 1955/56 "Golden Flash" (swinging arm) a refit and have never been certain which rear  damper setting would be the best ?
I am 12 stone and 5-8" and rarely carry a passenger .

The dampers are in good condition and are the original Girling units ..
Could a knowledgeable member please let Me know the optimum spring rating and correct position for daily use ?

Whenever Stephen posts, I'm reminded of Old Black Joe - one of my favourite songs, which just happened to be written (in the 1800's) by a certain Stephen Foster .....
Anyway, re suspension settings. A lightweight rider and no pillion - has to be on softest setting ie low down.

If it’s got the three-position cam adjustment for spring preload, you try all the settings and use the one you like best.
