SRM oil seal sleeve nut. Has anyone here ever fitted one of these? Just fitted a new main shaft oil seal and much to my amazement it popped straight in, and the circlip also went home with no trouble at all. Should I be worried? Anyway I have digressed. What is the hex size needed to tighten up the SRM oil seal sleeve nut? It is far bigger than any of my spanners or sockets that I have. I do not know if the hex is imperial or metric so I need to know that before I start searching on line for one. It could be anything, I say that because the SRM sump drain plug bolt is AF so I thought it best to check out what the sleeve nut hex size is. Oh, and one other thing. Should sealant be applied to the selector fork shaft where it goes the through the gearbox shell, and also its retaining grub screw?
